Hylomar Tilebond – Flexible Impact Resistant Epoxy Adhesive

Tilebond is a flexible, heat-resistant epoxy adhesive for permanently bonding surfaces subject to impact, vibration and deflection. The adhesive absorbs and dissipates impacts and vibrations along the bond line, preventing cracking or dislodging of tiles. It recovers to its normal state after shock loading and forced deformation. Exposure to temperatures up to 150 °C increases the adhesive's flexibility, unlike conventional epoxy adhesives which become more rigid at elevated temperatures. An adhesion promoter increases bond strength to a variety of substrates. Tilebond has a proven track record in bonding fusion-cast high-alumina ceramic tiles for protection against abrasive wear in the transport of fuel, coal and shale, with applications in coal preparation plants and coal-fired power stations. Available in 1-litre and 8-litre tins.

Hylogrip 5177 thread sealant

Hylogrip HY5177 is a medium strength pipe sealant for metal threads. It has high viscosity suitable for bonding all threaded metal units. It is particularly useful for quick sealing of threaded joints in pipes, especially where the joint is exposed to vibrations. The properties of Hylomar 5177 correspond to Loctite 577. When fully cured, it is highly resistant to heat, corrosion, vibrations, water, gases, brake fluid, oils, hydrocarbons and many chemicals. Typical applications Hylogrip HY5177 is a medium strength thread sealing adhesive for general use on all metal threaded components, especially those within pipes. HY5177 has a high breakaway torque, while allowing easy assembly and disassembly. Because the compound cures inside the joint, it not only prevents leakage from the pipe system, but also excludes the surrounding environment from the joint surface. This helps reduce the likelihood of crevice corrosion, especially where the joint is submerged in seawater. Uncured material disassembled) Cured material - Temperature range -55ºC to 150ºC Instructions for use For best results ensure that both surfaces are clean, dry and free from contamination such as oil or grease. Surfaces can be cleaned with acetone or equivalent product. Before assembly apply sufficient product to fill the threads, place the nut on the thread and tighten to the desired torque. Re-tighten if necessary. Hylogrip HY5177 can easily be wiped away with a cloth moistened in acetone or similar solvent.
